New Beginnings
Every day I begin again
As the sun and moon shake hands at dawn I start a fresh
There are beginnings in every moment
Each breath signals my rebirth.
Inhaling life. Exhaling the rest.
Letting go of that which no longer serves me.
Releasing whatβs no longer needed
Inhaling love. Exhaling the rest.
But with each opportunity to start again
I must remember what has come before.
Honour every skin I have shed
Every person I have been
Every lover that has shared my heart
My bed
My head
I am only here because of that which came before
I can no easily erase my past than I can delete the stars from the sky
And I ask you - why would I want to?
I am an evolution
A continuous cycle
An ever changing catalogue of laughter, love, tears and grief.
Scars and marks track my skin and trace my heart lines
With every day.
In every breath.
I die a death.
But when I emerge into the light.
Into my new beginning
Perfectly imperfect
Human and raw
I remember I am always me
Filled with mess and completed flawed
But yet, there is no one else I would want to begin again with.
There is no one else Iβd rather be
But simply at the start of this new beginning
Simply
With
Me.
